NAIM
Naim Hakim is the name under which written rap and vocal work is released.
Emphasis on the bars.
Narrative and genre experimentation are the focus.
Production handled independently in adjacent electronic formats.
Growing up in Brooklyn, Naim has been immersed in the city’s vibrant music culture from a young age. From sneaking into Konkrete Jungle drum & bass nights to capturing the raw energy of early dubstep pioneers like Skream, his roots run deep. Inspired by legends like Rusko, The Cool Kids, and Aesop Rock, SHA picked up the turntables and never looked back. With a foundation in classical music theory, turntablism passed down from his father—a witness to the birth of hip-hop in 1970s NYC—and training in digital music production at NYU, music was a natural progression.
Artistry as technically sound as it is soulfully intuitive.
